Software & Application Innovation Lab (SAIL)

Founded in 2015, the lab partners with BU researchers directly, so projects need no vendor contract. Its Sloan Foundation–funded project, Providing Reproducible and Equitable AI Access in Academia (PREAA), develops an open-source generative-AI platform with evaluation, tracing, and governance tools. SAIL also built software for BEACON, an AI outbreak-surveillance system.
